Applications are invited for the post of Project Assistant post for M.Sc. Biological/life sciences/Genetics candidates or B. Tech in Biotechnology at Indian Institute of technology (IIT), Kanpur. Position: Project Assistant

Number of Posts: 1 (One)

Remuneration 10800-900-27000

Essential Qualifications: Graduate (B.Sc. / B.A. /B. Com. / BBA / BCA)

Desirable Qualifications:

Master degree in Microbiology/ Life Sciences / Biological Sciences or B. Tech in Biotechnology from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks.

He/She must have Research Expertise in

1. wet laboratory exposure in molecular biology
2. independent handling of PCR machine, Gel Electrophoresis and Gel Documentation systems
3. basic knowledge of cell culture, characterization and maintenance
4. Proficiency in handling basic and computer data

Lab responsibilities

1. Cleaning
2. Manage log book entries for every instrument
3. Sample preparation & handlings
4. Lab safety protocol
5. Environment log book maintenance
6. Keeping record of the consumables
7. Instrument cleaning & AMC
8. Manage students record in log book
